Memorix Anatomy is the textbook medical students learn from in Czechia, Slovakia and other countries. Together with the team behind it, we built Anatomy Tutor: an AI-powered study platform that stands on the book’s verified content.
Memorix remains the source of everything on the platform. AI shapes it into whatever a student needs in the moment: an answer in the chat, a deck of flashcards, or a quiz built around their topic and their faculty. The result is a study tool students can rely on, with the textbook inside and a tutor that’s there whenever they need it.
The need
The Memorix team already had the hardest part: content medical students trust. They wanted to bring it to where students actually study today, and to use AI to get there. The brief was a tool that guides a student through the whole run-up to the anatomy exam and builds on proven learning methods: active recall, spaced repetition and instant feedback. All without losing any of the book’s accuracy.
The challenge
One exam, four different tools
Anatomy is one of the first big exams in medical school, and one of the heaviest. Memorix alone runs to 622 pages. Most students piece their prep together: the textbook as a PDF, flashcards in another app, test questions handed down from older classmates, and a general AI chatbot for the parts that don’t make sense.
Each of these tools works on its own. And a general chatbot answers fast and with confidence even when it’s wrong. Students had trusted content on one side and a pile of disconnected tools on the other. What was missing was a product that brings the two together.
The Cleevio solution
We designed the platform around how learning really happens: you read first, then ask questions, then recall the material from memory, and finally check what you actually know. Each step has its own part of the app, and all four draw on Memorix. Students pick their own route. They can work through everything in order, jump into a quiz the night before the exam, or go back to the book.

The principles
1. Memorix is the source. AI is the tool.
Three medical experts stand behind the content: MUDr. Radovan Hudák, prof. MUDr. David Kachlík, Ph.D., and doc. MUDr. Ondřej Volný, Ph.D. A general chatbot pulls its answers from the whole internet. The Tutor Chat in Anatomy Tutor answers from Memorix and adds a link to the source, which opens right in the ebook with one click.
2. Learning as a loop you can repeat.
Research on learning has long agreed that reading alone isn’t enough. We remember most when we actively recall the material, come back to it over time and find out straight away where we went wrong. The platform brings these methods together in one loop. A student can start by reading a chapter in the ebook and talk through anything unclear with the tutor in the AI chat. Next they practise with flashcards, and then test themselves in a quiz. After every deck and every quiz, the AI tells them what they know well, where they slipped and what to focus on next. For the things that just won’t stick, they can go back to the textbook as often as they need and go over them again with the tutor, which can point to the exact place in the book.
3. Students decide how they want to study.
The platform suggests a path but never forces it. Students choose whether to study by Memorix chapters or by their faculty’s exam questions, how big a flashcard deck they want and which question types show up in the quiz. They also decide whether the AI marks each answer as they go or the whole test at the end. Some want to check every answer right away. Others want a dry run of the exam with no hints.
Phase 01
Ebook: Teach me
Memorix Anatomy in a form you can really work with. Full-text search finds a term anywhere in the book, and smooth zoom helps with detailed illustrations. Highlights and pinned notes stay saved, and the app remembers the page where you left off.
Phase 02
Tutor Chat: Explain it to me
Select a word, a sentence or a whole paragraph and ask the tutor to go deeper. It suggests follow-up questions on its own and, where it fits, recommends a clinical case, so a dry fact gets real-world context. It shows labelled illustrations alongside its answers and can turn the current topic into a summary, a table, a mini-quiz or a set of flashcards with one click.
Phase 03
Flashcards: Drill me
Pick chapters from Memorix or the exam questions of your faculty, and the AI builds a deck. You rate each card as Again, Hard, Good or Easy, and the FSRS algorithm decides when it comes back. Cards you struggle with return more often, and the ones you know stay out of the way. At the end of the deck, the AI sums up your strong and weak areas and offers to repeat only what hasn’t stuck yet.
Phase 04
Quiz: Test me
Set the number of questions, the type (single choice, multiple choice, open answer) and whether you want feedback after each question or at the end.
The feedback goes further than right or wrong. For every question you see what you chose, what you missed and why, and you can retake the ones you got wrong straight away.
Reach
Every faculty examines differently
Everyone studies the same anatomy, but every faculty sets its own exam questions. That’s why Anatomy Tutor includes the exam questions of every Czech and Slovak medical faculty. Students pick their faculty, and flashcards and quizzes then follow its syllabus.
The platform runs in seven languages: Czech, Slovak, English, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian and Polish. So medical students outside Czechia and Slovakia use it too.
What we delivered
Product strategy and UX/UI design, a responsive web app, an AI tutor grounded in Memorix, flashcards and quizzes, onboarding by faculty, subscriptions with a free trial, the landing page, and an admin panel with usage and retention data.
