AI Forward Deployed Engineer

FDEFull-TimeHybridPragueBrno

Understand the business. Build the solution. Make it work in the real world.

At Cleevio, we help companies become AI-native by embedding AI into how they actually operate.

We’re looking for an AI Forward Deployed Engineer who can work directly with clients, understand their business, identify high-impact opportunities, and build solutions that people use every day.

This role combines engineering, product thinking, and client collaboration. You’ll own the journey from an unclear business problem to a working production system—and stay involved long enough to see whether it delivers.

The role

What you’ll do

  1. 01

    Get close to the business

    • Work directly with the people running the processes you’re improving.
    • Understand their workflows, systems, data, and bottlenecks.
    • Identify where AI can create measurable value and challenge ideas that don’t justify the investment.
    • Turn ambiguous needs into a focused scope with clear success criteria.
  2. 02

    Build and ship

    • Design and implement AI agents, workflows, and integrations with existing business systems.
    • Write code, connect APIs, and work with real company data.
    • Choose the right languages, frameworks, and tools for the problem.
    • Prototype quickly, test assumptions with users, and turn successful prototypes into reliable production solutions.
    • Own implementation hands-on, bringing in our engineering team when the scope requires it.
  3. 03

    Make solutions work in practice

    • Evaluate output quality and handle failure cases, permissions, and human review.
    • Balance accuracy, latency, and cost.
    • Work alongside users, run practical workshops, and adapt solutions to their daily routines.
    • Take responsibility for adoption as well as delivery.
  4. 04

    Keep improving

    • Measure results against the original problem.
    • Iterate based on usage and feedback.
    • Expand what works across teams and workflows.
    • Turn lessons from individual projects into reusable components and practices.
What success looks like

People use what you build. Work gets done faster, costs go down, or new revenue becomes possible. The impact is measurable, and the solution keeps working beyond the initial demo.

Who we’re looking for

Who you are

  • You can build. You have solid software engineering fundamentals and can independently develop, debug, and deploy applications. You’re comfortable with APIs, data integrations, and unfamiliar codebases.
  • You’re language-agnostic. You have depth in the technologies you know, but you’re comfortable learning a new stack and choosing tools based on what the problem needs.
  • You’ve worked with AI beyond chat interfaces. You’ve built solutions using LLMs and understand their limitations. You can explain how you evaluated quality and what happened when things went wrong.
  • You think like a product builder. You care about the user’s problem, challenge assumptions, shape the scope, and make thoughtful trade-offs between speed, usability, and technical complexity.
  • You think commercially. You connect technical decisions to business value and know when a simpler solution is enough.
  • You’re curious and open-minded. You explore unfamiliar approaches, welcome different perspectives, and change your mind when the evidence calls for it.
  • You work well with people. You can discuss priorities with a business leader and implementation details with an engineer.
  • You take ownership. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can move a project forward without a detailed playbook.

Experience deploying AI into real business workflows is especially valuable. So is experience navigating legacy systems, messy data, and the practical challenges of getting teams to change how they work.

What matters to us

Sound judgment. Fast iteration. Technical depth. Following through.

You actively use AI in your own work, keep experimenting, and can distinguish a promising demo from something a business can depend on.

What you get

What we offer

  • A central role in building Cleevio’s AI practice.
  • Direct access to clients and ownership of meaningful business problems.
  • The autonomy to shape solutions and see them through.
  • A team that actively uses AI across engineering and product development.
  • The opportunity to influence how we build and deploy AI across future projects.

Plus a few
practical perks

  • Support for courses, conferences, books, and AI tools.
  • A contribution toward office work equipment.
  • English lessons with a native speaker outside working hours.
  • A subsidized MultiSport card.
  • Office breakfasts every other Wednesday, plus free coffee and fruit.
  • Monthly community events and team activities.
  • Five paid days off following the birth of a child; ten for twins.
  • Referral bonuses up to CZK 40,000.
  • One company-paid Hedepy therapy session per year.

Eligibility conditions apply; most benefits are available after your first three months.

How we hire

Our hiring process

  • An introductory call with Eliška. We’ll discuss your experience, motivation, and what you want from your next role.
  • A technical interview with Tomáš, our Head of Delivery. We’ll dive into what you’ve built, your technical decisions, and how you take solutions from an initial idea into production.
  • A final call with Lukáš, our founder. We’ll discuss your product and business thinking, your ambitions, and how we could work together.

Whatever the outcome, you’ll hear back from us with clear, specific feedback.

Show us what
you’ve built

Along with your CV or LinkedIn profile, send us 1–2 AI solutions you’ve personally built or deployed. For each, briefly explain:

  1. 01What problem you were solving and what you personally implemented.
  2. 02How the solution worked, including the main technical trade-offs.
  3. 03What impact it had: time saved, costs reduced, revenue generated, or actual usage.
  4. 04How you approached adoption and what you learned from users.

Links, demos, or code are welcome. An anonymized walkthrough is fine for confidential work. If it hasn’t reached production, be clear about what you’ve validated so far.

We review applications only when they include these examples.

Relax. Listen. Design. Build.
